    Boise is growing at a monumental rate and with it comes great food, entertainment, and culture. And what better way to experience all Boise has to offer than a night of stunning art, incredible wine, and delicious food? Liven up your week and check out some of these local galleries and restaurants.

    The Art Source Gallery

    Founded in 1993, The Art Source Gallery, located at 1015 Main Street, features a large and diverse gallery co-operative full of beautiful pottery, sculptures, jewelry, glass art, paintings, photography, fused glass, handmade rugs, and much more. With such a wide array of styles and pieces, there is always something to captivate the eye and stimulate the mind. Art Source is an undeniably inspirational place to be. Not to mention, a reception is held on First Thursday every month to feature an honored artist or organization. These events include hors d’oeuvres, Indian Creek wine, and local music.     Idaho Made

    Idaho Made is Idaho’s a coop boutique-style, brick-and-mortar shop selling art and crafts made locally by its talented members. You’ll find jewelry, knitted and crocheted creations, baby goods, aprons, hair accessories, bath & body products, recycled and upcycled items, and tons of other fun stuff. The store is located in downtown Boise on 6th and main area.

     

    Gallery 601

    Gallery 601 was established in 1981 by Terry Begg and features graphics, fine art, originals, limited editions, collectables, and art-related products. The gallery can be found at 211 N. 10th Street. They are always stocked with enticing art and beautifully moving pieces. Kicking off on First Thursday (March 2), Gallery 601 will be hosting a retrospective show for the entire month to posthumously honor the very talented James Christensen. It will serve as a fundraiser and commemoration for the artist and 20% of each sale will be donated back to the James Christensen Scholarship Fund. Christensen’s art covers a broad spectrum including religion, fantasy, and mythology. Known as the ‘Master of Imagination,’ each of his pieces tells a unique story. Join Gallery 601 in honoring their good friend with a festivity of artistic accomplishments and celebration.

     

    Wild Root Cafe

    Started by husband and wife, Michael and Anne-Marie Trebbi, Wild Root Café & Market has become an instant success on Boise’s iconic 8th Street. The couple wanted to share their passion for culinary mastery and nutritious food and have succeeded in doing just that. Offering delicious cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there is always something new to choose from at Wild Root. Their tantalizing menu features entrees for all varieties of palettes, including a large variety of vegan options. Be sure to stop in for brunch and give their Wild Skillet a try, with wild greens, mushrooms, and sweet potato hash.

     

    Mixed Greens

    Chris and Molly Gray are a delight and their store mixed greens is adored by many with several following their Instagram page and alter ego Instagram page that has some subtle explicit cards, cups, and craft items. You can find one-of-a-kind cards, jewelry, cups, aprons, wrapping paper, and more. It’s a well-known gift store that is often very populated. A new expanded location will be opening this March next door on the corner of Idaho and 9th. A must go!

     

    Leku Ona

    Located in the heart of the Basque Block at 117 S. 6th Street, Leku Ona has become a pinnacle destination for authentic Basque cuisine. Born and raised in the Basque country, Jose Mari Atriach came to Idaho as a sheep herder. His love and passion for Basque culture inspired him to open Leku Ona, a traditional Basque restaurant with adjoining boutique hotel in 2005. Leku Ona’s captivating menu includes dishes that will both invigorate and enliven the sense, such as the paella with chorizo, vegetables, pork loin, and solomo. Make sure to save room for dessert because their Sweet Custard Flan is incredible!
