Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in Boise

Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day rounds the corner once again. Whether it’s a blossoming love your long-time partner, it’s time to start planning the perfect date day. But rest assured, we’ve got you covered!

Start the day off right with a delicious meal to fuel your fun-filled V-Day. Of course, we always recommend Goldy’s Breakfast Bistro (who can resist that Potato Dill Frittata?!) but if you don’t have time to wait in line, there are plenty of other delicious breakfast spots for you to try!

Big City

Big City is renowned for their portions and hand-made meals and it’s hard to pass up their tasty Breakfast Wrap ($10 for the wrap, it will definitely feed both of you!). Or spring for a Bagel Sandwich. You won’t regret it!

Often overlooked, Elmer’s has a mouth-watering selection of breakfast options for every palette. And while you’re at it, grab a mimosa.

The Griddle

We simply cannot resist the Griddle. Tantalizing and savory crepes, unstoppably delicious Corned Beef and Hash, and they really know how to serve a Benedict. You won’t regret it!

Boise Art Museum

After a big breakfast, you’ll need to walk around a bit. And with this rainy winter we’ve been having in the Treasure Valley, what better way to get your steps in than to do enjoy some amazing art. Their latest exhibit, Women in American Impressionism, is absolutely stunning and well worth the trip.

MK Nature Center

Okay, so it’s a bit chilly outside, and maybe a bit damp, but the MK Nature Center is the perfect place to take a date, even when it’s brisk out. Whether you want to wander the trails and peek at the fish in the viewing tanks, search for sturgeon in the pond, or check out their indoor exhibits, it’s an absolute must for any Boise Date Day.

Plus, how beautiful is that section of the Greenbelt?

It’s been a few hours and it’s time to snack again before the rest of the day’s adventures. We’ve got plenty of great lunch suggestions for you to try.

The Tap House

Three words: Rosemary. Garlic. Fries. Yeah, you have to try them. Mouth-watering.

Bombay Grill

This place has some of the best Indian food in the Valley. But what’s more: shareable platters. Check out the back page of their menu for vegetarian and non-vegetarian share platters.

You don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy all of the amazing, unique entrees at Richard’s. How about some Creamy Cheese Polenta or and Grilled Ham and Brie?

Tango’s Empanadas

Just a short trip from downtown on Orchard St. is Tango’s Empanadas, with a vast selection of traditional Armenian empanadas that will leave you wanting more! Yes, it’s hard to just pick one, but you don’t have to! Grab a couple to share—it’s Valentine’s Day, treat yourself!

Free Valentine’s Day Swing Dance Class at Mad Swede

Give yourself some time to digest those empanadas, then head over to Mad Swede from 5 pm to 7 pm and learn a new dance style. Swing your partner around the dance floor and enjoy some tasty brews while you’re at it!

More V-Day Events

There are also events happening at JUMP (Love Your Body Ladies’ Night), local bands at the Olympic Venue for $7, and dueling pianos and WilliB’s!

Whichever event you chose, you’ve probably worked up an appetite again! Check out these great dinner spots on 8th Street!

8th Street: Funky Taco, Bittercreek, Matador, Red Feather, Juniper, Eureka, Diablo & Sons, or the new Tupelo Honey.

Eighth Street is absolutely packed to the hilt with places to check out for dinner, so of course we couldn’t pick just one.

Eureka has a great happy hour selection of shareable appetizers so you can save room for a cocktail down the street at The Mode.

And if you haven’t stopped in to Tupelo Honey, located upstairs on 8th Street, you absolutely have to! Nothing says dinner like southern comfort food.

Trust us, even if you only choose a few of these places, your date will be swooning!

Happy Valentine’s Day from Greenbelt Magazine!
