Over 30 years young, Deli Days has been entertaining, educating, and feeding Idahoans since its beginnings, starting in the basement of Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel while still located on State Street. It has grown to one of Boise’s best loved annual summer festivals. The 2-day event is expected to draw 3,000 to 4,000 visitors this year and will feature local and headline musical acts performing traditional klezmer (Eastern European) Sephardic (Middle Eastern and Latin) music as well as music from a variety of genres by Jewish composers.
Deli Days, Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel’s annual fundraiser, has been one of Boise’s cultural traditions since 1986. This fabulous food and fun filled festival is packed with pastrami, corned beef, pickles, and cheesecake. Homemade baked goods round out the menu providing Idahoans with an eating experience they could only get in New York City. Local craft beer and wine will also be available.
Deli Days also showcases Boise musical acts in a whole new way. In addition to favorites like The Moody Jews of Boise, several local entertainers will perform music by Jewish composers in a variety of styles including, jazz, rock, and Americana. (Google artists like Pink, Lou Reed, Neil Diamond, Danny Elfman, The Shins, The Beastie Boys, Drake, etc.)
Guided tours of the historic Synagogue will be offered during Deli Days. Look for other activities at Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel celebrating 125 years of Jewish culture in Idaho.
